People who DON’T NEED TO REGISTER:

  • S. Citizens
  • People in the US for less than 30 days

People who are required to register but ARE ALREADY REGISTERED (nothing more needs to be done):

  • Permanent Residents
  • People with Parole (even if parole expired), including:
  • Humanitarian Parole
  • Advance Parole
  • MILPIP
  • People who were given an I-94 (paper or electronic), EVEN IF THE PERIOD OF STAY EXPIRED
  • People who were issued visas that were valid at the time of their last date of arrival
  • Anyone in removal proceedings (even if proceedings were completed)
  • Anyone with an EAD
  • Anyone who was isseued a Border Crossing Card
  • Anyone who has filed one of these forms *and completed biometrics*:

People who are required to register

Everyone Else

For those required to register, our position is:

  1. People where the risk is (relatively) low and so I’m (generally) encouraging them to register:
  2. People with a pending AOS who have not done biometrics yet (important to register now!)
  3. People with a pending I-918
  4. People with a pending or approved I-601A
  5. People whose risk is moderate, and I’m generally encouraging registration after they talk to me:
  6. People who are about to file for AOS, I-918, or I-601A
  7. People who need to talk to me about the risk/reward of registering/not registering: a. Everyone else
